Quattuorvigintal Time

[Blatsy: "Hey, Dr. Marloon, what are you working on?" Marloon: "Trying to sort out time, Blatsy. Although this time I've got it with Quattuorvigintal Time!"] [Blatsy: "Quatro... Quatturo... Quaou--" Marloon: "Don't hurt yourself. But yes. You see it always rubbed me the wrong way that everything in the metric system is divisible by 10, but the main metric unit of time - the second - isa mess! 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day! So..."] [Marloon: "I've unified it all! Everything is now in multiples of the number with the most factors: 24! I've changed the durations, and viola! 24 seconds in a minute! 24 minutes in an hour! And since distances are defined by time, those would change too."] [Blatsy: "But won't that make the math harder?" Marloon: "Not after I convert all numbers into base 24."]

Daylight Explaining Time

[$$$109 from WebToon responded to Dr. Marloon's proposal for Dalight Savings Time by asking: "Ok what?"] [Marloon: "It's easy, I swear! I'll explain differently."] [Marloon, indicating two graphs plotting time against time, one using a step function, and one that appears continuous: "Instead of remembering which random days to change your clock, you just change it a little every day by the same _tiny_amount. It all adds up, see?"] [Marloon: "And when you look at them side-by-side, isn't it ridiculous how we do it now? I mean, what if we did that with food? You don't eat _just two huge meals a year!_"] [Marloon: "Although... If that _did_become customary, we could employ more-efficient farming and cut down on table scrap food waste..."]

Leapless Years

[Blatsy: "Hey, Dr. Marloon, what are you working on?" Marloon: "Fixing the calendar with the Leapless Year!"] [Blatsy: "The Leapless Year?" Marloon: "Yes! You see, Leap Years have too many rules around them! Any year divisible by 4, unless it's divisible by 100, unless it's divisible by 400... All of this to account for the fact that the Earth takes 365.24 days to travel around the Sun."] [Marloon: "But with the Leapless Year, you never need to worry or calculate again! Instead of adding 24 hours _some_ years, we add 5.67 hours _every_ year!"] [Blatsy: "Wouldn't that cause daylight to shift every year and throw off everyone's circadian rhythms?" Marloon: "Oh, only 3 out of every 4 years. But at least it would be predictable."]
